We were delighted to welcome a high-level delegation from the Petroleum Commission, Ghana, to Aberdeen Drilling School during a visit to Offshore Europe 2017. The visitors took time out to tour the Aberdeen training facility, discuss recent developments in Ghana’s oil and gas sector, and exchange experiences and ideas relating to upstream training and development activities and future plans.
The Petroleum Commission is Ghana’s regulator, mandated to regulate, manage and co-ordinate all activities in the upstream petroleum industry for the overall benefit and welfare of Ghanaians. Ghana has been producing offshore since the 1970s but gained worldwide attention in 2007 with the discovery of the giant Jubilee field. Ghana is attracting IOCs who recognize its importance and potential as a major oil and gas producer. The training and development of Ghanaians will be key to a bright future for the country.
