Before a course booking is confirmed, we make every effort to ensure that the prospective training candidate meets the entry requirement and is suited to the course he or she has requested. In order for us to confirm candidate eligibility we will request candidate information. Please be assured that any personal information provided to Aberdeen Drilling School will be processed in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations. For further details, please see our Privacy Policy.

When you find a course you are interested in, please read the course information and familiarise yourself with the pre-requisites and assessment information. If you have any questions about the course, please get in touch.

Joining instructions (including course start and finish times, venue details, directions to the venue and local accommodation details) will be issued with the booking confirmation email.

If the “Course Booker” is not also the “Course Participant”, it is the responsibility of the Course Booker to ensure that the Course Participant receives the Joining Instructions in full before the course start date. If you are the Course Participant and you have not received your joining instructions five days prior to the course start date, please contact us directly. Aberdeen Drilling School will not be held responsible for non-receipt of joining instructions where the Course Booker has failed to forward the booking confirmation email to the Course Participant.

To remain compliant with IWCF certification standards, we will need the following candidate details in order to process a booking request.

Candidate Full Name (as it should appear on the certificate)|Date of Birth| Job Title| Previous IWCF or IADC certification details | IWCF Candidate Registration (CR) Number*

*If a candidate does not yet have an IWCF CR Number, they must register their details online in order to generate their unique 6-digit CR Number: www.iwcf.org/forum.

This information will help us to ensure that you are registered for the appropriate training programme.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • If a candidate is from or is currently living/working in an embargoed or sanctioned country according to EU regulations, IWCF must be informed in advance and additional information may be required in order to proceed with a training application.
  • We do not accept bookings for IWCF/IADC instructor level training, unless the instructor candidate is under a train-the-trainer contract with Aberdeen Drilling. If you would like to discuss our train-the-trainer programme, please contact us directly for details.

If you no longer have access to the email address you registered with when the FORUM account was created, please contact forum.help@iwcf.org to request an update to your account. Please include your full name, date of birth and CR number when contacting IWCF.

Once candidate eligibility is verified, full payment in advance will secure a booking. A booking confirmation email with joining instructions and any relevant pre-course study material will then be sent to the Course Booker.

Where a client contract or written agreement is in place, a purchase order may be used to secure a booking. Bookings secured by a purchase order will be invoiced on the course start date and payment terms will be detailed on the invoice.

Self-sponsored course participants can make payments by credit/debit card or by bank transfer. Please be assured that Aberdeen Drilling School is fully PCI DSS compliant through First Data Merchant Solutions (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).

Where a signed agreement is used to secure a course booking and where payment in advance is stipulated in the agreement, the payment must be received by our Accounts Department before the course start date. If payment has not been received by the course start date, we, the training provider, reserve the right to cancel the participant’s place on the course.

Under normal circumstances, Aberdeen Drilling School will offer a full “no quibble” refund for all bookings cancelled within the “Cooling Off” period of 7 days* (i.e. one calendar week). If you need to cancel your booking outside of the “Cooling Off” period our Cancellation Policy will apply. Please use the time to ensure that you have accommodation and travel arrangements in place.

*EXCEPTION if you book a training course which is due to commence within 3 weeks of the booking date, the “Cooling Off” period is 24 hours from the time of booking.

Course fees include tuition, all relevant course materials, lunch on training days, refreshments, and examination(s) where applicable. For candidates who successfully pass the course and initial assessments, certification is also included.

We do not provide accommodation, but we can provide a list of nearby hotels on request.

IWCF or IADC resit examinations are not included and will be charged at an additional cost if required.

All price quotations provided to you will state whether or not local taxes have been included in the price or not. This varies by location. Please ask for clarification before you make a payment if you are unsure.

The requirement for additional training and resit assessments will follow IWCF or IADC resit and retraining criteria as appropriate. Retraining and resit assessment fees are not included in the course fee. A member of our Customer Service Team will provide a quote and agree a resit and/or retraining schedule with the Course Booker on a case-by-case basis. In cases where a candidate is required to resit the whole course as a new candidate, the course will be charged at 50% of the list price as long as it is taken within the *resit period. Normal booking procedures and payment terms will apply. To request a copy of the IWCF and IADC resit criteria please contact us.

Please ensure that retraining is scheduled within the required resit period which is 90 days for IWCF courses and 45 days for IADC course. For further guidance, please contact us directly.

Requests to transfer a course booking to a different date must be made in writing.

Please ensure that you bring valid photographic identification with you on the course start date. For IWCF and IADC certified courses we recommend that you bring your passport with you and keep it on your person throughout your training.

We ask that course participants wear smart casual clothing on training days. Please avoid wearing shorts or open-toed shoes.

For IWCF and IADC certified courses it is vital that each candidate can provide valid photographic identification to be verified by the independent invigilator. PLEASE DON’T FORGET YOUR PASSPORT. Failure to provide the required identification on the day of your exam will cause a lot of unnecessary stress and may result in disqualification from the examination session.

No mobile phones/programmable electronic devices can be used during examinations. We strongly recommend that you read the exam paper carefully and answer all the questions. When you have finished, read through the paper again and double check all your answers. When you leave the classroom, be sure to take all our belongings with you. Please do not disturb the invigilator for exam results.

Yes, you will be able to review your answers during your assessment. Once you are confident with your answers you can select ‘Finish Assessment’. Once you have finished your assessment you will not be able to change your answers.

Throughout your assessment, you will be able to flag questions for review and provide feedback at the end of each module.

Your results will be provided by a member of Aberdeen Drilling School staff as soon as they are available. The results are usually released by the afternoon of the examination date but can take longer for any exams held outside of our permanent training centres. Temporary certificates valid for 90 days are emailed to successful candidates as an attachment to the Exam Results Notice email. Original certificates are forwarded to the Course Booker as soon as they are made available (this process can take up to 90 days for IWCF certificates).

For full details of the IWCF or IADC Examination Policy & Resit Procedures, please contact us.

Each course has a minimum required pass mark. Please refer to the course specification for further details.

We are committed to offering the highest quality of instruction and customer service and as part of our drive for continuous improvement, we welcome all feedback from our customers.

Should you have any feedback, comments, or complaints regarding your experience with us, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of our Customer Service Team. Please email: info@aberdeendrilling.com.

The recording of your assessment will be retained for 2 years from our assessment date.

On the day of your assessment, the invigilator will check to make sure the blank kill sheet has been pre-approved by IWCF. If this is not an approved kill sheet, you will be required to use the IWCF blank kill sheet as detailed in section 2.6 of this procedure. Please make sure you print a copy of the IWCF blank kill sheet before your assessment date.

If you have an internet connection issue, please reload the FORUM page and re-open the VICTVS V3 application when the internet is working. You will be required to login to your assessment and your previous progress will be saved.

In the event of an unforeseen emergency (e.g. fire alarm) that requires you to leave your assessment, your safety is priority. If you are evacuated or an emergency occurs during your assessment, you will have to re-take any incomplete assessments.

Please note there is no guarantee you will be able to re-take incomplete assessments on the same day.
