Team-Based Simulator Training aims to enhance the drilling team’s understanding of changes during drilling, interpretation of those changes, and actions to restore the well. It is designed to encourage the participants to utilise the whole team and work toward group decisions. The course employs real-time incident scenarios on the drilling simulator, followed up by class-based feedback discussions and reflection. The course can also incorporate the clients own well data to support a better understanding of well specific issues and well control. This type of training allows the team to “learn by doing” in a safe but challenging environment where their technical skills and behavioural skills are tested and improved.
This course has been designed for drilling personnel with drill floor and rig supervision responsibilities.
There are no formal pre-requisites for this type of training; however, candidate suitability and assumed base knowledge will be discussed and agreed with the client in the early stages of course development.
The course can vary between 2 and 3 days’ duration depending on the client’s training objectives, well specific training and the experience levels of the course participants. This course is taught through interactive simulator sessions using a full-size rig-floor drilling simulator with debrief discussion and feedback.
Successful completion of the course will result in an Aberdeen Drilling School certificate which is valid for 2 years.
This course is for group bookings only
