Overview

The aim of the Internal Verifier programme is to enable trainee Internal Verifiers to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills which underpin the tasks to be performed as an Internal Verifier. On successful completion of the initial 1-day course the learner will be able to conduct Internal Verification tasks to in-house company standards.

Designed For

This course has been developed for individuals within an organisation who are designated to be Internal Verifiers.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal educational pre-requisites for this training, however, it is the employer’s responsibility to elect appropriate candidates from within their organisation to be trained as Internal Verifier.

Course Delivery

This 1-day instructor-led course is conducted through a series of demonstrations and lectures delivered by the  Instructor/Assessor. During the programme, learners are given practical exercises to complete under supervision, giving them the opportunity to seek clarification and/or advice where necessary.

The training can be delivered at one of our training centres or at the client’s location.

Introduction to Internal Verification (Theory)

Upon completion of this unit, learners will understand:

  • The purpose of internal verification and associated roles and responsibilities
  • Sources of assessment evidence
  • Internal verification terminology
  • Technology with assessments

The Internal Verifier’s Role

Upon completion of this unit, learners will understand, appreciate the importance of, and be able to perform:

  • Providing support for assessors
  • Monitoring and verifying the quality of assessments
  • Record keeping and discussing feedback
  • Assuring and standardizing the competency process
