This eLearning module provides learners with a fundamental understanding of the process, procedures and equipment associated with MPD Operations with surface BOP stacks.
This fundamental course (also known as introductory level) has been designed for any rig personnel who are exposed to MPD Operations. In accordance with IADC guidelines, demonstration of introductory course knowledge is expected of personnel before they enrol in the IADC Operations Level MPD course.
There are no formal prerequisites for this level of training; however, learners must have a thorough understanding of conventional drilling, a working knowledge of drilling well control, awareness of the equipment used in rotary rig operations, and an understanding of the principles of well control barriers.

Successful completion of the eLearning course and the IADC knowledge test will result in an IADC MPD certificate valid for 5 years.
