The aim of this Drilling Practices course is to develop the participants’ existing knowledge of rig operations and activities in order to optimise performance, minimise downtime, and to ensure a safe and efficient operation by always adhering to industry best practices and operational policies and procedures. This course is highly customisable and can vary in duration depending on the client’s training objectives and the availability of additional client-specific material such as operational guidelines and/or relevant case studies to be incorporated.
This course is designed for all rig-site personnel and office-based support.
There are no formal pre-requisites for this type of training; however, prior experience in drilling operations is assumed. Candidate suitability and base knowledge will be discussed and agreed with the client in the initial stages of course development.
The course typically includes 4 of our standard 2-day drilling practices modules to create a full 8-day course, however, the final design and duration will be approved by the client and the programme will be tailored to the experience levels of the participants. It is delivered at the client’s preferred location, through presentation of a series of interactive lectures, videos and animations, pre- and post-course knowledge assessments, case studies where available, and facilitated group discussions.
Successful completion of the course will result in an Aberdeen Drilling School certificate which is valid for 2 years.
This course is for group bookings only
