This team-based course is designed to provide the participants with the skills, tools, processes and techniques needed to improve human performance when working as a part of a crew/team during safety critical operations. The training focuses on the key principles of CRM; situation awareness, decision making, communication, leadership/supervision, teamwork, and performance shaping factors.
This course has been designed for teams working in safety critical operations, and is ideally suited to those working in high risk industries such as the energy, transport, aviation or maritime industries.
The course can be delivered over 3-5 days, through a series of interactive lectures supported by videos and animations, case studies, group discussion, and practical exercises carried out on our drilling and well simulators. The training is further supported by pre-course e-learning material and culminates in an online knowledge assessment.
To encourage group discussion and maximise engagement with the material, course participants are divided into teams to review relevant case studies, discuss the issues raised, and consider the relevance to their own operations, i.e. what could have been done better etc. This course can also be customised to include relevant case studies and well plans provided by the client.
Successful completion of the course will result in an Aberdeen Drilling School certificates which does not need to be renewed, though refresher training every 2-3 years is recommended.
There are no formal pre-requisites for this type of training; however, candidate suitability and assumed base knowledge will be discussed and agreed with the client in the early stages of course development.
This course is for group bookings only
