The aim of this Casing Design course is to develop the course participant’s understanding of casing requirements, functions, and design principles.
This course is designed for practicing well engineers and well planners who need to understand the principles of casing design. The training is also designed to benefit engineers involved in cementing and supply chain management with responsibility for procuring casing.
There are no formal pre-requisites for this type of training; however, candidate suitability and assumed base knowledge will be discussed and agreed with the client in the early stages of course development.
The course can vary between 4 and 5 days’ duration depending on the client’s training objectives and the experience levels of the course participants. It is delivered through presentation of a series of interactive lectures, group discussion, worked examples, and student workbooks that cover the range of hand calculations and graphical methods of casing design.
Successful completion of the course will result in an Aberdeen Drilling School certificate which is valid for 2 years.
